She spent a lot of her childhood traveling the east coast with her family, as her father was a manager for Firestone Tires. As a young child, she loved to sing and dance and was a cheerleader and drum majorette in high school. She also loved to play field hockey.
She attended Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA.
She married Dave Miller in 1961 and had 2 children, Debbie and Ross Miller.
Her biggest joy in life was being a mom, and she was an incredible one!
She loved children, and taught elementary school for a few years in southern PA , before moving to the northern part of the state, Coudersport, PA. There she had an antique store, and loved to go to auctions to find her treasures.
She and Dave, along with some friends, purchased Potato City Motor Inn in 1973. All of them worked very hard to make a very successful business.
After relocating back to southern PA, she continued in hospitality, and was a sales manager, director, and regional manager for many large hotel chains in PA and then Florida.
She married Thomas Kearney in 1987, and enjoyed many happy years with him at their home in Winter Garden, FL.
She loved all animals, especially cats, and adopted many throughout the years. In retirement, she volunteered at a pet rescue, where she also adopted her beloved dog, Jojo.
Judy was a voracious reader and especially loved murder/mystery/espionage type books.
She loved the ocean, beach, swimming and boating. The beach was where she was happiest and found peace.
Judy loved her family and friends wholeheartedly, and would do anything for the people she cared about. She never met a stranger, and greeted everyone with a big warm smile.
