Deepak was born to Dayawanti and Diwan Chand Kalsi on August 21, 1943, in Rawalpindi India. He was the second youngest of 5 brothers and 2 sisters, who he grew up with in Green Park, South Delhi,
Deepak later went on to attend Jodhpur College of Engineering, where he also served as the captain of the College’s cricket team. After getting his Civil Engineering degree, he worked in Delhi for a short time before meeting and marrying his wife, Vinod (Vinni) Kalsi in 1971 and moving to Buffalo, New York the same year.
Deepak and Vinni had two children, Rakesh (Rick) in 1972 and Ritu in 1975. After leaving Buffalo in 1980, they were in Atlanta for seven years before moving to Orlando where they have lived since 1987. Deepak spent most of his career as a Chief Estimator at Turner Construction. His greatest passions in life were his career, the game of cricket, and most of all anything that involved time with his family and loved ones.
Deepak is survived by his wife, Vinni; brother, Jagan Nath Kalsi; children, Rick and Ritu; daughter-in-law, Angie and son-in-law, Raja; four grandchildren, Ria, Raja, Avari, and Tai; nephews, nieces, cousins, family, and friends who he loved dearly.
A service for Deepak will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 6:00pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida 34734.
