Betty Irene Bixby

She was born on 06/27/1922 in Columbiana, OH and moved to Central Florida in 1966 where she continued her role as a pastor’s wife, loving mother and grandmother. She is a member of the Apopka Calvary Church of the Nazarene.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Webster Yarian and Pearl Lydia Caldwell, her brother Robert (Bobby), her sisters Dorothy (Dottie) Blacketter and Shirley Roos, her children Gary Bixby and Janice Bixby (Snow) and her grandchildren Gary (Butch) Bixby and Taffi Franket.

She is survived by her children Linda (Gary) Thompson of East Palestine OH, Dianne Matheny of Orlando FL, Teri (Ken) Wilson of Summerfield FL, Kimberlee (Michael) Clark of Blairsville GA, and David Shane (Bobbie) Bixby of Orange City FL; her sister Norma (Verdell) Felter of Lehighton PA; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida and will be held on Tuesday August 14th at 12:30 with the Rev. Jim Page officiating. Afterwards, she will be laid to rest where she will spend the rest of eternity by her beloved husband’s side.
