Antoinette Claire Sacks, lovingly known as Nina to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 18th, 2024. Nina was born in Geneva, Switzerland, on October 27, 1943, and spent her early years in São Paulo, Brazil, before moving to New York in 1961.
Nina is survived by her three children, Danielle, Michelle, and Chris. She has four grandchildren, Paige, Michael, Jura and Avinash and four great-grandchildren, Aubree, Austin, Zane and Zoey. She is also survived by her youngest sister Helene Aubert.
Nina was predeceased by her first husband, Ward Clay Aldrich, with whom she shared 10 years of marriage as well as her devoted husband of 33 years, Joseph Charles Sacks.
Nina took great pride in being a Mom and Navy wife, supporting Joe during his military career.
Nina had a gift for gardening and was an avid dog lover for many years. She cherished her time with her little Shih Tzu, Sammy, who brought her comfort and companionship.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who kindly and selflessly supported Nina throughout the years. A special mention to Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares who provided Nina with compassionate and exceptional care in her final days.
A private family service is planned for Nina where she will be laid to rest at Florida’s National Cemetery at Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to Cornerstone Hospice House of Tavares in memory of Antoinette (Nina) Sacks’ memory.
