Wayne Christner Sr., 77 of Avondale, passed away September 1st, 2013 in Phoenix. Mr. Christner was born on December 30th, 1935 to Daniel and MaryAnn Christner. After spending 8 years in the Army Wayne worked for Paramount Furniture for 6 years then went on to work for Schultz Mobile Homes for 28 years before his retirement in 2001. After deciding retirement was not for him Wayne started his own Ceramic Business in 2002. As an avid outdoors man, Wayne’s hobbies included collecting rocks, trains and spending time in the mountains. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and leaves behind his loving wife Betty J. Christner, Sons: James, Wayne Jr. (Melissa) and Randy(Tara) Christner and Paul, Melvin, Charles, Danny(Rea), Jeff(Andrea) Colwell. Daughters: Nancy(Jose) Sandoval, Linda(Donnie) Yant, Diana Tattrie and Lorie(Taylor) Diamond. Grandchildren include: Shawn, Sheronna, Scotter, Taylor, Angie, Jessie, Jason, Chris, Johnny, Bobby, James, Joe, Faith, Tyson, Sandi, Jayden, James, Cinnamon, Donnie, Kristina, Eric, Kari, Joy, Phillip, Daniel, Brandon, Jeffery, Kaycie, TJ, Winter Colwell and along with 42 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday September 6th, 2013 from 5-6pm followed by the funeral service at 6pm at Thompson Funeral Chapel located at 926 S. Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, Az.
