Walter Schreiner, 75, of Buckeye, AZ, passed away April 28, 2012 at home. He was born January 5, 1937 in Germany. After WWII his family moved to France where he became a French citizen and served in the French Army as a paratrooper. In 1964 he immigrated to the United States and became a United States Citizen. In Brooklyn he met his wife Sunduz “Sevim” Karadeniz whom he married August 22, 1965. They moved throughout the United States and settled in Arizona 15 years ago. He was preceded in death by his wife Sunduz October 6, 2011. He is survived by, his mother in law Fatma Kirim, his sons Dieter Schreiner and John Mele, his daughters Layla Mele and Amanda Schreiner, his sisters Ruth and Hanna Schreiner, and 3 grandchildren, John, Joshua, and Jacob. Visitation will be at Thompson’s Valley West Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, AZ Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 9:00am. The service will follow at 10:00am, K. Preston Gray presiding. Burial will be at Louis B. Hazelton Cemetery in Buckeye, AZ.
