Vera Elder

Vera Elder (July 17, 1921-December 24, 2012) has gone on to her new life with our Lord in Heaven; she passed after a long illness and is now at peace.  Vera was born in Berlin Germany to Oscar and Gertrude Hemple.  She was brought to the United States as a young girl.  Vera was preceded in death by her husband Alonzo A. Elder, her son Larry E. Elder and oldest daughter Lucinda V. Elder Putnam.  Vera is survived by her daughters Sandy L. Weiss (Fred) of Fort Collins, CO; Cheryl G. Looney (Leon) of Goodyear, AZ; Dorothy E. Calhoun (John) of Robertsville, MO; Theresa V. Elder of Phoenix, AZ and son Marcus L. Elder (Gail) of Litchfield Park, AZ; grandchildren Carter & Brian Looney, Jason & Lisa Elder, Skyla Engler, Bob & Tim Putnam, Norman Hicks, and numerous great grandchildren.  Also her only sibling Dorothy A. Schons of Coon Rapids, MN.  Vera worked as an accountant for Phoenix west side business, retiring after many years with Conair Corp.  Her last years were spent in the care of Cook Health Care Center (Lifestream) in Youngstown, AZ.  Prayers are welcome.  No services are planned.  Condolences can be sent to www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, AZ.
