Thomas Grimes

Thomas M. Grimes “Tom”, 81, of Goodyear, AZ (formerly of Woodbury, MN), died peacefully on November 5, 2012 with family and friends at his side.   He was born May 27, 1931 in Granite Falls, MN.  Tom loved to travel and play tennis and was an avid sports fan!  But most of all, he loved being with his family and friends and watching his grandchildren take part in their school activities and athletic games. Tom will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather, and for being a wonderful, loyal friend. He will be greatly missed by all!   

He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 50 years, Monique; his daughter Claudia (Craig) Mills of Portland OR, son Tom (Amy) of Scottsdale; his siblings Catherine Grimes and brother Bob (Jackie) Grimes; 4 grandchildren; Caitlin and Carley Mills, Matthew and Shawn Grimes; nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents Ambrose and Susanna Grimes. 

Mass will be held on Thursday, November 15, at 10AM at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 13720 W. Thomas Road, Avondale AZ 85392, with a gathering of family and friends at St. Claire Hall, adjacent to the church. Interment will be at a later time at National Memorial Cemetery of AZ.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
