Mr. Apolonio A Sanchez, Jr., 83 of Avondale, AZ died December 26, 2015 in Phoenix, AZ. Apolonio was born April 25, 1933 in Okarche, OK to Apolonio, Sr and Felícitas Sanchez. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 reaching the rank of Corporal. While in the Army he was assigned to be a combat construction specialist.
Apolonio is survived by two sisters, Maria Gonzales and Jenny Valdez, three brothers, Felipe Sanchez, Vicente Sanchez and Ronnie Sanchez, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Isabel Sanchez and Paul Sanchez.
A Visitation will be held 5:00 pm with the Rosary at 6:30 pm, Monday, January 4, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at St John Vianney Catholic Church, 539 E La Pasada Blvd, Goodyear, AZ. Interment will follow at 12:30 pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
