Gabriel Rene Rodriguez, age 45 of Avondale, AZ died February 16, 2019, in Avondale, AZ. He was born May 8, 1973, in Phoenix, AZ to Henry and Stella Rodriguez. Larger than life, “Big Gabe” had a personality that completely filled a room. As a young man, he was mischievous, adventurous and brave. He made friends easily and remained loyal to his friends throughout his life. He graduated from Agua Fria High School and Phoenix College where he received certification as an EMT. He played football for both schools, wearing the number 65 on his jersey. He worked as a residential foreman for Olympic West Fire Protection Corporation. His reputation for hard work made him a highly valued employee.
Generous, compassionate, and sensitive, Gabe was a gentle giant who knew his own strength. He was aware of everyone around him and would make friends with all he came in contact with. He had a sort of super-hero power and knew precisely how to protect and assist those around him. When friends had need of help, Gabe was the first person they would reach out to. He could always be counted on no matter what the situation was. Helping others made him happy!
Gabe was always smiling and had a contagious laugh. He looked for fun and interesting things to do with his family and friends. He loved being with them, telling stories and reminiscing. His siblings were honored to be known as “Gabe’s brother” and “Gabe’s sister!” He was the favorite uncle who would go over the top to make his nieces and nephews happy. He loved his children and especially loved his twin grandsons. He could hardly wait to meet his first granddaughter who is soon to be born. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. NIIIIIIICE!
Gabe is survived by his daughter, Sierra Neisinger (Haley); son, Gabriel Rodriguez, Jr. (Natalie); parents, Henry and Stella Rodriguez; sister, Suzanne Schneider (Arthur); brothers, Steve Rodriguez (Cecilia), Rick Rodriguez (Jessica); grandchildren, Emmett, Elias, and Lylah; and girlfriend, Shelly Jordan and her children.
