Pablo C. Mata, beloved father, went to meet his creator on October 16, 2014 at 3:08 pm. He was a resident of Avondale, Arizona. He was born to Lonjino Mata and Elauteria Gonzalez on April 12, 1928 in a little ranch called “El Indio” in Presidio, Texas. Pablo was a hard worker and grew up to be self supporting. At the age of 16 years, he came to live in Barstow, Texas where on a September 16th Celebration Dance, he met the love of his life, Manuela Levario. They were married on August 11, 1945. They made a beautiful life together with seven children. Two of which went home to Christ at an early age. The best part of his life was working on cars and he was great at it, being the proud, sincere and honest person that he was, he grew a great cliental. Our dad was the best there was; a great provider, a supporting father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. Pablo was honest, humble and respectful man, always ready to give a hand to anyone. He showed respect to all and cared not to argue. Pablo was a great singer, he loved to sing. Best of all is that our dad was one of a kind, a man of his word. Surviving him are his children, Teresa and Francisco De Los Rios, Maria Elena and Ismael Salas, Blanca Corea, Pablo and Rosana Mata, and Rosa Maria Mata; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren; and lots of family members and friends. We will greatly miss him. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm, rosary at 6:30pm, on Monday, October 20th at Thompson Funeral Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, October 21st at St. Williams Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale, AZ.
