Marcia Jean Fisher of Scottsdale, Az passed away on November 26, 2022 at the age of 78, in Litchfield Park, Az. Marcia was born July 18, 1944 in Sacramento, California to Robert “Bob” and Olga “Sandy” McGregor. She graduated from the original St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix, then went to the University of Dayton, Ohio where she obtained her BS in Elementary Education. Marcia taught in Phoenix off and on, but the proudest part of her teaching career was spent in Guam. While there, she was able to travel throughout the Orient and truly loved the different cultures and people she encountered on her journeys. Marcia also worked at Motorola, as a secretary at the National Coffee Company (where she met her husband, Lyle Fisher), and as an Arizona Tour Guide. Most of all, she was a mother, wife, and grandmother – her three favorite jobs. Marcia was the best mom, wife, and nana anyone could ask for. A truly good, generous, and kind woman, she often had a smile on her face and a hug in her heart. She gave all of herself to others and genuinely loved everyone that crossed her path. Marcia was a devout Catholic and spent her life serving the Lord. In her free time, she could be found reading, working with her plants, doing yoga and crafts. Nature was her happy place and was often hiking throughout Arizona, including the Grand Canyon at least three times.
Marcia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christi and Barry Worman, her granddaughter, Paige, and grandson, Brenden. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Donna Chiappini (Clay) and Bill McGregor (Bonnie), and many cherished nieces and nephews. Marcia was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Lyle Fisher, her parents, Bob and Sandy McGregor, twin sister Janice Hertzberg, brother, Doug McGregor, and nephew, Ryan Jacobs.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Thompson’s Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, Az. A private mass and burial will be held for family later in December.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
