Jeffrey E. Nielson, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and son, passed away on October 5, 2024, in Goodyear, Arizona. Born on December 16, 1961, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jeffrey was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Amber M. Nielson Sapputo; his cherished grandson, Hunter Horn; his sister, Sheri L. Nielson Ross; and his brother, JD Nielson. He also leaves behind his loving parents, David J. and Sally A. Nielson, and his loyal dog, Rocket. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Juel and Ivie Nielson, and Orvin and Laura Emery.
Growing up in Tustin, California, Jeffrey graduated from Foothill High School and went on to work as a cook, insulation installer, and carpet cleaner. He was known for his kind, helpful, and humorous nature, always radiating positivity and joy. His cooking was legendary, particularly his famous "Frito Boats," which brought friends and family together around the table.
Jeffrey was avid fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Diego Chargers. He also had a deep passion for rock music, with favorites including Pink Floyd and Creedence Clearwater Revival. He also loved the Star Wars franchise, which captured his adventurous spirit. His enthusiasm extended to the outdoors, where he enjoyed swimming, camping, skiing, fishing, and playing disc golf. He could often be found at the casino, relishing the thrill of the game.
Jeffrey’s greatest pride lay in his family legacy, particularly the bond he shared with his daughter and grandson. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, hard work, and unwavering love for those around him. His joyful presence and infectious laughter will be profoundly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 4pm, Saturday, October 26 at Thompson Funeral Chapel.
