Harold Armstrong, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, at the age of 87 with his family by his side. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Lillian Ruby Armstrong, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with love, faith, and family. Harold leaves behind three children, Randy Armstrong, Mike Armstrong, and Sherry Harris, 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, each of whom carry forward his legacy of kindness, integrity, and faith.
Harold was a man who walked with God, serving as an example of humility, strength, and grace to all who knew him. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he touched many hearts with his gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to his beliefs. His dedication to service and one of Harold's greatest passions was his involvement with Orphan's Lighthouse, an orphanage in Uganda. He traveled there, serving the children and staff with dedication and love, always eager to make a difference in the lives of those in need. He touched their lives as much as they enriched his.
A graduate of Texas Tech University, Harold pursued a career as a chemical and environmental engineer, ultimately retiring from Borden Chemical Corporation after many years of dedication to his field. He had a lifelong love for sports and enjoyed playing golf, where he made lasting friendships on the course. Harold was also passionate about gospel music, often filling his home with its comforting melodies. An avid reader, he could most often be found sitting in his favorite chair absorbing a book while sports played on the TV. He and Ruby cherished traveling together, exploring new places and sharing adventures and gospel music concerts with dear friends.
Harold will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, but his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched and the Godly example he set for his family and community.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations to Orphan's Lighthouse should be made in his memory. Please send all donations to Orphans Lighthouse, 8901 W Kay Ln, Tolleson, AZ 85353.
