Guadalupe Villanueva, 54, of Avondale, AZ passed away January 30, 2015, at West Valley Hospital in Goodyear, AZ. Guadalupe was born in Ejido El Claro, Sonora, Mexico to Benito and Laura Alicia Moreno on July 27, 1960. Guadalupe (who often went by Lupita) was wife to Benjamin Villanueva and mother to three children. Guadalupe completed a nursing degree program in Santa Ana, Sonora and worked as a nurse for two years. She later immigrated to the USA, where she attended beauty school and became a hair stylist and worked in Sun City, AZ for 20+ years. She was a member of St. John Vianney Parish in Goodyear, AZ where she was a catechist and member of the Guadalupanas for many years. Guadalupe is survived by her husband Benjamin Villanueva, sons Genaro and Benjamin Villanueva; daughter Kennya Gonzalez; grandsons Antonio Villanueva, and Rakim Gonzalez; her mother Laura Alicia Moreno Martinez, brothers, Cesar, Luis, Gustavo, Marcos, Benito, Bernardo and sisters, Veronica and Martha. Vigil and Rosary will be held at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Goodyear on February 4, 2015 at 6pm-8pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint John Vianney Parish, on February 5, 2015 at 10am with Fr. Tom Eckert, C.S.C. celebrating Mass. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
