Fred Michael “Mike” Stover, 66, of Goodyear, AZ passed away on January 23, 2017 surrounded by his loving family after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born in China Lake, California. He was married to the love of his life, Irene Stover, on July 26, 1975 at St. Agnes Church in Phoenix, AZ. They were married for 41 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972. His career was in the furniture moving business. There he worked as a truck driver and later worked in sales at Professional Movers, Inc. Mike was full of love and light causing people to gravitate to him. Mike was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, husband and friend. Mike was dearly loved and will be missed by so many. Mike attended 3 years of high school in Hawaii and returned to finish high school at Alhambra High School in Phoenix. He graduated in 1968. He enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and hiking. His greatest source of joy was to spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred E. Stover and Elizabeth Stover and his mother-in-law, Bertha Bagby. He is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Stover; his children, Michael (Yvonne) Stover, Jennifer (Bryan) Treguboff; his grandsons, Logan, Caden, and Zane Treguboff and his granddaughters, Zoe and Abbey Stover; his brothers, Craig Stover and Philip Stover; father-in-law, William H. Bagby; brother-in-law, William (Betty) Bagby; nieces, Brittany Bagby , Elizabeth Ann Turner and Channa Hobbs; nephews, Chris Stover, Blake Bagby and Jeff Hobbs; and great nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to thank all the excellent Caregivers of Hospice of the Valley who provided such exceptional care and comfort to Mike.
A viewing will be at 5:00 PM with the rosary service at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Chapel at 926 S. Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, AZ 85338. Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 3, 2017, at St. Thomas Aquinas , 13720 W. Thomas Rd, Avondale, AZ 85392. Flowers may be sent to Thompson Funeral Chapel or in lieu of flowers donations to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Hospice of the Valley, or Cancer Foundation for Alternative & Integrative Medicine.
