His family moved to California in 1955. In 1969 he started working for GTE/Verizon and at the same time, he joined the army reserves where he was a tank mechanic. Graduated top of his class and he retired after 34 years in 2003.
He was known by many names; Most knew him as Bob, some friends would call him Chrome for the chrome sunglasses he wore, other’s new him by Rocky, Mr. D, Bobby D and his grandkids nicknamed him Grandpa TV.
He loved hosting bbq’s in his back yard where he made his famous ribs and macaroni salad. You would always see him rocking one of his iconic hawaiian shirts or one of his pocket tees. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Linda Dichirico; his daughters, Shila and Leandra Dichirico; his Grandchildren, Bella, Niko and Carlo; sisters, Tony Ryde, Liz Dichirico, and Rose Dichirico-Murillo; brothers, Charlie, Jimmy, and Nick Dichirico. He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Rose, and his brother Ted Dichirico.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Thompson Funeral Chapel.
