Christine Crawford Ray, 75, of Laveen, AZ, passed away on October 10, 2024. She was born on May 27, 1949, in Browning, MT, to Ray Talk and Elizabeth Ritter. Christine dedicated her life to caring for others.
Initially a devoted homemaker, Christine returned to her studies when her children were older and pursued a nursing degree. She spent her career in the Labor and Delivery department at St. Joseph's Hospital, where she brought joy to countless families. She later served as a school nurse and worked with hospice care until her retirement, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to those in need.
In addition to her nursing career, Christine and her husband Byrdy built a trucking company where she played a vital role, meticulously managing paperwork and ensuring operations ran smoothly. Her organizational skills were matched only by her compassionate spirit.
A member of Word of Grace Church in Mesa, Arizona, Christine was passionate about sharing her faith in Jesus Christ. She found great joy in spreading the love of Christ and making a positive impact in the lives of others.
Christine loved the great outdoors, often spending her time camping and boating with family and friends. Her nurturing nature extended to all ages, as she enjoyed working with babies, the elderly, and school children. Christine will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her beloved husband Byrdy Louis Ray, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage; by her daughter Rebecca Arlene Ray Arbizu; sons Stephen Byrdy Ray and James David (JD) Ray; and sisters Camilla Hames and Collene Crawford. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 26 at Vineyard Church in Goodyear, Arizona.
