Pauline Annis Hise, age 90, passed away on September 16, 2020, in Surprise, Arizona. She was born on Sunday, July 27, 1930, in Pilot Point, Texas. Her parents were Wallace Clinton Hill and Maggie Evangeline Robison. The family lived in Gainesville, Texas, until 1934 when they moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma. Pauline and her parents were active in the First Nazarene Church in Ponca City, where she came to know the Lord at an early age. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1949.
Pauline met Jack Hise in 1950, and they were married in Ponca City on January 28, 1951. The couple's only son, Michael, currently lives in Goodyear, Arizona with his wife, Patricia, and the couple’s only grandchild, Ryan. For over 25 years, the couple lived in Tonkawa, Oklahoma where Pauline served as bookkeeper for their Ford automobile dealership and repair businesses. She also owned a children’s clothing boutique in Tonkawa.
In 1979, they sold their Tonkawa home and businesses, and retired and moved into a newly built custom home on Lake Eufaula, located in southeastern Oklahoma. They enjoyed their “life on the lake” together with their three Irish Setters and Golden Retriever. A few months after celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary, Jack died on September 2, 2011. It was then Pauline moved to Arizona to be closer to her son's family. Pauline became a full-time resident of the Chaparral Winds Independent Living complex in November 2011 lived there until her health rapidly declined in late August this year.
Pauline so loved the many wonderful friends that she had made at “Chaparral” and always looked forward to dining and playing cards and other games with her friends. She also enjoyed singing in the Chaparral Winds choir. Her final resting place will be next to her husband, Jack, at the Resthaven Memorial Park in northeast Ponca City. Services are private at this time.
