Mattie was born in Madison, Tennessee Saturday, December 16, 1939 to the late Jasper and Novella Hicks. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Billy Ray Butler; brothers, Earl and Delmore Hicks; sister, Mildred Jones.
Mattie is survived by daughters, Judy (Tim) Reasonover, Cathie (Andy) Hunter, Linda (Tony) Turner; grandchildren, Donny (Shana) Jones, Billy (Lindsey) Reasonover, Brittany (Brandon) Ussery, Stacie (David) Means, Derrick (Miranda) Jenkins, Nathan (Jessica) Jenkins, Brandy (Thomas) Bush; great-grandchildren, Riley and Dalton Jones, Rion and Hinson Reasonover, Colton and Keegan Ussery, McKenley and Lexa Means, Mattie, Eliza and Wade Jenkins, Autumn, Waylon and Emery Jenkins, Haley, Allison, Elija and Wiley Bush.
Mattie was a gentle and loving soul! She showed love to everyone that came across her path. She enjoyed traveling, especially going to the beach. She love playing cards, games and yoga at the Senior Citizens Center with friends. She loved living at the Christian Manor Apartments and made many dear friends. She was very active and had many hobbies.
She was a member of General Baptist Church in White House, Tennessee and currently attending Hendersonville Free Will Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and witnessed to many.
A visitation for Mattie will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday, October 17, 2022 from 10:00 until 12:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
A celebration of life will occur Monday, October 17, 2022 at 12:00 PM Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Treadway and Pastor Reed Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Donny Jones, Billy Reasonover, Derrick Jenkins, Nathan Jenkins, Riley Jones, Dalton Jones, Brandan Ussery and David Means serving as pallbearers.
