Mary Shumate, age 86, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Mary was born Monday, May 2, 1938 in Williamson County, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nannie Pearl Bandy and Willie Franklin Burgett and son, Kenneth Lyndon Draper.
A retired kitchen manager, she enjoyed word search puzzles and journaling. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Steven Paul Shumate; children, David Ray Draper, Deborah (Edward) Ayers, Ronna Lea (William) Hodge, Donald Ray (Shannon) Draper, Timothy Floyd (Dana) Mires, Arthur McKinley Cunningham, William Thomas Mires; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Timothy (Donna) Burgett.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mary at a visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will occur Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 12:00 PM. with Rev. Mike Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of The Last Supper at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
