The son of a beloved pediatrician, Thomas M. Palmer, MD, Charles "Charlie" valued life and regularly donated blood to the American Red Cross. His giving total over his adult years was a total of fourteen (14) gallons. (The Red Cross Drop Pins stop at 10 gallons.)
A long-time member of St. Luke Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Madison, TN, he unselfishly gave of his time, talents, tithes, support, humor and friendship. He delighted in sharing from God's Word, being both a life-long student of God's Word, and a teacher of God's Word.
Daddy, Grandpa, PaTa, Palmer, Uncle Charles, "Charlie," will be most remembered for the qualities his families have used to describe him: Peaceful, gentle, loyal, studied, reliable (responsible), supportive, steadfast (steady), committed, loving, godly, generous, helpful, kind, welcoming, funny, fashionably late, a great storyteller, (full of) wisdom, knowledgeable, dependable, giving, caring and compassionate.
A special thank you to his caretakers, RNs, and all the staff at Hickory Hills for befriending him, and to Dr. David A. Montgomery III and staff and the Alive Hospice staff for their excellent care.
