Kenneth Garrett Porter Jr., age 84, of Springfield, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024. Kenneth was born Friday, July 19, 1940 in Nashville, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his parents, Malinda Kline and Kenneth Garrett Porter, Sr.; wife, Beatrice Sue Porter; son, Kenneth Mitchell Porter; daughter, Baby Girl Porter; sister, Cynthia Porter Drake; brother, Stephen Martin Porter.
Retired after 36 years from the Nashville Metropolitan Fire Department, Kenneth is survived by his sons, Charles W. (Melissa) Porter and James Kevin Porter; granddaughter, Emily Porter; sister-in-law, Linda Porter Sherrell.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Porter at a visitation Friday, October 11, 2024 from 12:00 until 2:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 Friday, October 11, 2024 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Devotion at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
