James Ray Fryer

James Ray Fryer, age 89, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. James was born in Springfield, Tennessee Sunday, April 15, 1934. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Wallace and Mary Elizabeth Lee Fryer; sisters, Hazel Marie Jones, Dorothy Lee Shoulders and Violet Ruth Mullins, Margaret Allen; brothers, Hillard Fryer, Billy Fryer, S T Fryer, Bobby Fryer; son-in-law, Dennis Sims.

Vice President of Holt Brothers Carpets and member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville, he survived by his wife, Dorothy Dean Mims Fryer; daughter, Marjorie K. Sims; son, James Ray (Linda) Fryer, Jr.; grandchildren, Matthew (Morgan) Sims, Natalie Sims, Victoria Fryer, Lauren (Tristan) Walker; great-grandchildren, Owen Sims, Alice Walker, Forrest Walker.

A visitation for James will be held Monday, December 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.

A Celebration of Life will follow the visitation at 2:00 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Lake and Tim Harris officiating.

Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Garden of Love with Charles Lawrence, Matthew Sims, Geary Fryer, Gene Binkley, Todd Gray and Howard Moll serving as pallbearers.
