A wife, mother, dog-lover, caregiver and friend to everyone she met, Carol’s unexpected passing leaves a monumental void in the lives of her loved ones: David Boehms, her beloved husband of 48 years; Leslie Boehms, her daughter and only child, son-in-law Adam Shanley; and her miniature dachshund Bella. Carol was loved by so many including her sister Kathy (Bob) Stroud, brother Michael (Lois) Jernigan, sister-in-law Carole (Boehms) Maxwell, brother-in-law Tony Boehms, her nieces, nephews, countless friends and many other dear loved ones.
Carol was someone who never met a stranger and could get your life story out of you in 10-15 minutes. She was a force, a music lover, and a teacher. She received her bachelor's in teaching from MTSU in 1975 (the same year she married David), and taught at East Cheatham Elementary School from the late 70's until 1982; the year Leslie was born. In the early 1990s, Carol began working at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum in its original Music Row location where she helped build the Words & Music student songwriting program. She spent her later years as a caregiver for David, before succumbing to her own illnesses.
