Barbara Lain Jewell

Barbara Lain "Bobbie" Jewell, age 87, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Barbara was born on Thursday, August 30, 1934 in Joelton, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her father, Frank Lain; mother, Dorothy Townsend Lain; husband, Virgil Jewell; sons, Eddie Jewell, Barry Jewell; sisters, Helen Harris, Linda Robinson.

She loved her family; she married her husband, Virgil, when she was 15 years old and even though she only went to the 6th grade, she was a school bus driver for 30 years with Metro Nashville Schools; worked as a security guard, fostered 40 children, loved camping and traveling. A member of Northside Church Christ for 55 years. She loved going to Bluegrass with Dale Lain and taking care of her flowers and plants; and she enjoyed cooking and canning with Na.

She is survived by her son Larry (Tammy) Jewell; daughter-in-law, Beverly Jewell; granddaughter, Stacey Edwards; grandson, John (Jarryd) Jewell; granddaughter, Sissy Jewell; grandson, Craig (Sarah) Jewell; grandson, Barry (Michelle) Jewell; granddaughter, Brandy (Richard) Harrington; grandson, Alan (Hannah)Castle; granddaughter, Ashlee (Phillip) Schussler; granddaughter, Amber Earl; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rosco Lain, Ricky Lain, Jimmy Lain, Ronnie Lane; sister, Carolyn Jackson; many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, Tennessee. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Jones officiating.

Barbara will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens following the service; serving as pallbearers will be Craig Jewell, John Jewell, Barry Jewell, Dillion Jewell, Stephen Jewell and Gavin Jewell.
