She was blessed with four children of her own; Bobby Soileau (Vickie), John Soileau (Sandy), Faye Soileau Chambers (Reed) and Charles Soileau (Linda) and she was also lucky enough to have six children that she cared for like her own; the late Raymond Moran Jr., Janice Martinez, Patsy Lemoine (the late Eugene), Ricky Moran (Melanie), Charles Moran and Glenda Bordelon (Bill). Fondly known as MawMaw Z to 32 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
She was born on March 24, 1937 to the late Elita and Elie Richard. Sister of Rose Bernard, Elson Richard, the late Lee Richard, the late Luna Fontenot and the late Elie Richard Jr. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
Zeola has worn many hats in her life. She was an Avon representative, a furniture store clerk, worked in a nursing home and later became the owner and manager of Moran Mobile Home park with her late husband Raymond. She had many hobbies and passions which included gardening, Antiques and treasure hunting in junk stores and even served as a CCD teacher at St. Mark’s. Her main job and passion was being a dedicated mother to her loving children and those many grandbabies were her pride and joy. Her soft smiles will be missed at many family gatherings to come.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at St. Mark Catholic Church at 11AM, the visitation will begin at 9:30AM. The burial will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Prairieville. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oursofh.com for the family.
