Robert Simon Braud

A lifelong resident of Gonzales, Robert passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the age of 80. He was a retired Plant Operator with Ormet Corp. He was a member of St. Mark’s Knight of Columbus and Usher Society. He was also a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and Ascension Sportsman League. He was an avid hunter. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Babin Braud; daughter, Robyn Braud; sons, Matt Braud (Melissa) and Brent Braud; sisters, Joyce Braud, Shirley Mansur, and Gloria Simoneaux; brothers, Gerald Braud and Eugene Braud; five grandchildren, Justin Braud (Ashley), Ethan Braud, Zachary Braud, Kelsie Braud, and Lauren Braud; and two great grandchildren, Carson and Camden Braud.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vital and Frances Decoteau Braud; son, Todd Braud; daughter, Jodie Braud; granddaughter, Amber Braud Rousell; brother, James Eddie Braud; and sister, Evelyn Braud Carlstrom. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Visiting will resume at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales on Thursday, January 8 from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, Rev. Reuben Reynolds officiating. Burial to follow in Oak Lane Memorial Park, Prairieville. Pallbearers will be Justin Braud, Ethan Braud, Zachary Braud, Layne Braud, Devin Philippe, and Kyle Braud.
