Richard “Ritchie” Lee Ledoux, age 39, was unexpectedly taken from our lives on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. He was born on March 18, 1982, to Mark and Debbie Ledoux. Ritchie was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He was wildly inappropriate, sarcastic, charismatic, wonderfully loud, quick witted and colorful. He was truly one of a kind and a local legend, but best described as everyone’s best friend. He taught us that all the really good things in life are beyond the “No Trespassing” signs.
A few times in life, if you are lucky, you meet someone larger than life, someone so dynamic that his presence is felt the moment he enters a room. Ritchie was such a person. An extremely social and competitive person who became friends with every person he met; he knew no stranger. Above all, it was Ritchie’s sense of humor that made him stand out in a crowd. He could captivate any group, large or small, and leave everyone laughing until it hurt. Ritchie will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He was an incredible person who had an unparalleled zest for life and an infectious laugh. While none of his family and friends were ready to see him go, there is comfort knowing that he lived his life to the fullest being unapologetically himself. Ritchie was able to experience a once in a lifetime love with his wife, Morgan, who made his life complete and despite life’s challenges, were reconnected through their passion of old country music; “life with her just made perfect sense.” He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed sharing his passion for the outdoors with his two boys and biggest accomplishments, Hunner and Brody. There’s nothing more that he loved in this world than his family, except maybe winning. He had to win at everything, even beating the rest of his family to see his mama.
Surviving are his wife, Morgan Salassi Ledoux, sons, Hunner and Brody Ledoux. Father, Mark Ledoux, Sisters, Aimee Wheat (Brad) and Ashley Ledoux. In-laws, Michael and Mary Beth Salassi, Mandy Thomas (Landon). Nieces and nephews, Matthew, Abigail, Grayson and Lawson Wheat, Ava DeBate, Logan, Lakyn and Colston Thomas. He was welcomed into Heaven by his mother, Debbie Ledoux and niece, Angel Grace Wheat.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 30th and on Monday, January 31st at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement at 9:30 a.m. until services beginning at 12:00pm.
