Nicolas Sanders, a native of Glasgow, MO and resident of Prairieville, LA died on March 24, 2023 at the age of 20. When Nicolas was young he wanted to do everything. Baseball, football, basketball, Boy Scouts, and anything else that there was opportunity to participate in. He was a talented but lazy kid that could do anything he put his mind to while never finding his “thing”. His baseball teams affectionately knew him as Chicken Nugget. As a teenager he wanted to be a rapper, a gamer, and a YouTuber. Nicolas was an infectiously funny kid, the class clown, and the life of the party. Smart and witty, he made every gathering a roast session that ended in laughter and storytelling. “Remember that time when…”. Nicolas was a graduate of Dutchtown High School, which included a detour through APPLE Digital Academy. Nicolas was blessed with many teachers and educators who helped guide him through to graduation. Special thanks to Ms. St.Pierre and Mr. Loving who invested heavily in him. After high school he worked as a cook at Zippy’s Burritos Tacos & More, he loved his job and coworkers and told the most entertaining stories about the people he met there. Nick found the Life House and the Church International only a few weeks ago, and quickly embraced a relationship with God, he was baptized on March 5th. Through the programs offered by the Life House, Nick was planning on becoming a welder and had set admirable goals for his future life. While at peace with the Lord, Nicolas will be missed greatly on this earth. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Parker, Esther Sanders, and LeRoy Sanders. He is survived by his parents, Jennifer Milam and Eric Sanders (Terry King); siblings, Nathan and Jessica Sanders, Nicole Sanders, Noah Sanders; stepsiblings, Dillion King, Dakota King Dufrene, and Stormi King Bradshaw; and grandparents, Lee and Cindy Parker. In Lieu of Flowers please consider charitable donations to The Life House of Donaldsonville, LA and to the Church International of St Amant, LA in honor of Nicolas and Overdose Awareness. Special thanks to our generous friends and family, Russell Bourgeois, Miranda Miller, Mike Dupre, Randy Anglin, and the PAL organization who have supported us on this journey. A visitation for Nicolas will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
