He was a native of Convent, LA and a resident of Gonzales, LA since 1959.
Johnny was a proud U. S. Army Veteran of World War II who served in combat in North Africa and Europe receiving the Bronze Star and numerous campaign and service medals. Once returning home, Johnny was employed by Exxon refinery in Baton Rouge for 35 years. In retirement he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and watching sports, particularly baseball. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, East Ascension Sportsman’s League, American Legion Post 81, Exxon Annuitant Cub and served on the Drainage Board for the City of Gonzales. Survived by his children Marlene Cendrick (Tom), Joan Boudreaux, Timothy Boudreaux (Pam), Blaise Boudreaux, Sr. (Marie) and daughter-in-law Herrick Alexander Boudreaux; brothers Larry Boudreaux (Donner) of Gonzales and Daniel Boudreaux (Althea) of Metairie; sisters Joy Holdridge of Gonzales and Audrey O’Cain of Destrehan, sister-in-law Helena Abadie Boudreaux of Metairie. Nine grandchildren: Blaise, Jr., Cody, Cary, Spencer and Brandt Boudreaux, Shannon Leger, Maddie O’Rourke, Ashley Lobell, Jennifer Callaway and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his first wife Marguerite Reider Boudreaux, second wife Elizabeth Landry Boudreaux, sons Lanny and John J. Boudreaux, sister Daisy Schexnayder, brothers Percy, Davis and Clay Boudreaux. The family would like to express special thanks to the caring staff and caregivers of Azalea Estates of Gonzales.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church from 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Hope Have Garden of Memories Cemetery on Hwy 30 in Gonzales.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or any organization of your choice which assists the needy.
