Joanne Jackson Martinez

Our loving mother Joanne, went to be with her lord and savior on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. She passed away peacefully at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Joanne was born near Gloster, Mississippi on March 10, 1941, to John and Ruth Jackson. She grew up there until she met and married her husband Walter David Ebey. She is survived by their children, Lisa Ebey Saia, Val Ebey Bell, Sharon Ebey Bordelon, and David Ebey; sister, Doris Chapman; brother, Kenneth Jackson, and special friend, Roger Hurst. She was a stay-at-home mother, because that's exactly what she was born to be, a mom. Joanne loved the simple things in life, like spending time with family, shopping, and good ole country music. She had over 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She loved every single one of them and they brought so much joy to her throughout the years. Although she left this earth, her memory will live on through them. Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Jackson, daughter; Donna Ebey Wesley; husbands, Walter Dave Ebey, and Gerald Joseph Martinez, and good friend, William Bill McDowell. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 10 am until the funeral service at 12 pm at Galvez Pentecostal Church 15267 Joe Sevario Rd, Gonzales, La. She will be laid to rest at Hope Haven Cemetery, 37577 Duplessis Rd., Prairieville, La. Thanks so much to Ourso Funeral home in Gonzales for all of their care and help.
