Jean Louise Blanchard, a resident of Gonzales, La passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the age of 84. She was a United States Army Veteran. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Harold Blanchard; daughters, Gretchen Jenschke Tullier and Rhonda Jenschke Bodnar (Al); sister, Florence McCaskey; brother, Larry Downey; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Prudence “Prudy” Berkoben, Elaine Blanchard LeBlanc (Kermit), Barbara Jenschke Baker, Bill Van Horn, and Don Craighead; nieces and nephews, Marcia LeBlanc Menard (Scott), Tiffanie Blanchard Ray (Bill), Callie Blanchard Schouest (Jamie), Lisa Burns, and Kevin LeBlanc along with other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Sgt. First Class Larry Jenschke (1967); parents, Eugene and Ida Belle Keibler Berkoben; Godchild, Christine LeBlanc Brandon; son-in-law, Todd Tullier; sister, Alberta Van Horn; brother, Walter Berkoben and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Janelle Jenschke Craighead, Harry and Jackie Blanchard. Visitation for Jean will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 9 am until the funeral service at noon at Ourso Funeral Home 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA. Burial with military honors at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park 15304 LA-73, Prairieville, LA. Pallbearers will be Kevin LeBlanc, Patrick “Packy” Theriot, Dwayne “Nose” Roussel, Scott Menard, James “Jamie” Schouest Jr. and Bryce Brandon. Honorary Pallbearers are Liam Schouest and Lex Schouest. Special Thanks to Dr. Shawn Hall, Conchita Joseph, and Donna Triche of Our Lady of the Lake Physicians of Ascension for taking good care of Mom and also to the Our Lady of the Lake Trauma ICU of Baton Rouge nurse, Aimee Sommers for the special care she gave to Mom.
