A retired secretary for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and a resident of Geismar, she passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2010, in Baton Rouge. She was 73 and a native of Gilbert. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Monday, March 22, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, on Tuesday, March 23, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jeff Bayhi. Entombment in Hope Haven Mausoleum, Prairieville. Survived by her husband, Melvin Paul Argrave Jr., of Geismar; son and daughter-in-law, Melvin "Trey" III and Karen H. Argrave, of Prairieville; three sisters, Kathryn Cotton, of Prairieville, Brenda Rohner, of Monroe, and Linda Farmer, of Biloxi, Miss.; brother, Donald Vickers, of Central; and two grandchildren, Caroline Argrave and Melvin "Drew" Argrave IV.
