James "Nick" C. Haydel

James C. “Nick” Haydel a native of Ascension Parish and resident of Gonzales died on Friday June 2, 2023 at the age of 77 at his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a lifelong electrician, and enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Toni would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on Monday June 5, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Valcour Haydel Sr. and Anna Gautreau Haydel; three sisters, Margie Rome, Ruby Gautreau LaFleur, and Clara Fallaw; brother, John Valcour Haydel Jr; son-in-law, Robert Dewayne Lively. He is survived by his wife, Agnes Babin “Toni” Haydel; three daughters, Tathia Lambert, Danielle Solar, and Alisca Lively; one son, James Murphy Haydel; two sons-in-law, Bart Lambert and Lloyd “J-boy” Solar; one daughter-in-law, Leigh Ann Brumley Haydel; nine grandchildren, Lindse` York, Morgan Laiche, Logan Marcotte, Hunter Solar, Haleigh Twiner, Finley Haydel, Brooks Haydel, Robert Lively, and Michael Lively; three great-grandchildren; and nephew, David Lambert. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA., on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 10:30 AM-12:30 PM. Funeral Service will begin at 12:30PM. Burial will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memories on Highway 30 in Gonzales, LA. Pallbearers: Murphy Haydel, Bart Lambert, Randy York, Steve Marcotte, Joey DeVeer, Lloyd “J-boy” Solar.
