Harold “Lee” Rowley Jr. passed away at the age of 76 on April 8, 2022 with his loving wife at his side. He was a native of Oklahoma and has been a longtime resident of Prairieville. He was the husband of Susan Marie Seaver Rowley for 31 years, and they were blessed with two children, Ryan Christopher Rowley and Mimi Louise Rowley. Lee was also blessed with two children, Stephen Gaylord Rowley and Michelle Miriam Templet Rowley from his first marriage. He was the grandfather of Mallory Scott Templet, Layne Michelle Templet, Hannah Rowley and Grace Rowley. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold Lee Rowley Sr. and Jean Cullinan Rowley, and his brother Stephen J. Rowley.
Lee grew up in an oil business family and had an entrepreneur’s heart; he owned a bar and a ceiling fan store, managed an insurance company, and managed a home remodeling company. Lee’s last 15 years in sales were his most successful and he loved the challenge of traveling and meeting different people every day. He was a true Southern gentleman who never met a stranger. He was a fan of all sports and was always ready to discuss the latest plays and scores. Lee loved his family, including his fur babies. Nothing made him happier than finding a good restaurant and sharing a delicious meal with family and friends, always toasting “to love & money and time to enjoy them.” He will be truly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
A special thanks to Compassus Hospice and Flannery Oaks Guest House for their support during his toughest days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Lee’s Life on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales from 12 Noon till 2PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a live plant for Lee’s memory to live on. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oursofh.com for the Rowley family.
