George A. Peterson, 74, of Gonzales, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 27, 1950, to Wilbur and Arlene Peterson. He was a graduate of East Ascension High school and was married to Barbara Hooper Peterson for 54 years.
George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed the simple things in life. Some of his best memories were spending time with his family and friends, fishing, hunting, camping and cooking.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Peterson; children, Peggy Warren (Ronnie) and Phillip Peterson (Lori); grandchildren, Gavin Peterson, Rodney Warren (Jessica), Randy Warren (Corrinna); great grandchildren, Aleeyah Graham and Sabrina Fout (Daniel), Nathan Warren, Zachary Warren (Raeleigh), Faith Warren, Dakota Taylor; great great grandchildren, Warren Fout, Westlee Fout and Isla Warren and sister Pauline Peterson Russ (Randy).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Peterson and Arlene Peterson.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge for their amazing care and to Sissy and Randy Russ and their family for their endless love and support for our family. Their gifts of time and acts of kindness could never be measured.
Also, to Duke and Ann Hooper and Jeana Sanders for being there to support our family through Dad’s final hours and to Pastor Steve Gautreau and to My Church, Prairieville for the countless prayers and words of encouragement and comfort.
A visitation for George will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, LA 70737, followed by a funeral service at 12:00PM.
George will be laid to rest in Hope Haven Garden of Memory, 604 E. Hwy 30, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737.
