George “Gee” Nicholas Bourque passed away on December 10, 2022 at his home in Gonzales, Louisiana at the age of 44. He was born on October 12, 1978 in Monroe, Louisiana to Rhonda Waguespack Gaughan and Joseph Mark Bourque. He is a 1996 graduate of Lake Weir High School in Ocala, Florida. He earned his degree from LSU in Animal Science in December 2009 with the dream of becoming a veterinarian. Gee was a sweet soul; he had the biggest heart and loved helping others. One of his hobbies was breeding dogs, and he enjoyed his time working with local veterinarians. He also loved tinkering on cars and remodeling houses. He was a hard worker and was totally committed to whatever job he was doing. He fiercely loved his children, his brother, Cody and his family. He was very protective of those he loved. Gee was a loving, caring, and helpful son. He always wanted to be the best he could be; even though he struggled in his later years, that was the core of who he was. He was very caring and would always think of those in need. He was talented beyond the wildest imagination and incredibly smart and very protective. He loved animals but loved his children and family more. He was loving and supportive. I know he loved us all very much. He was brave, and was never afraid to show his feelings. He was charming and when he was happy, he lit up the room and everyone in it. Gee is survived by his two beautiful children, Jorie Nicole Grainer (mom, Jaime) and Prestin Joseph Bourque (mom, Tamara and ½ brother Krischian); his parents, Rhonda and John Gaughan of Gonzales, Louisiana and Mark and Jennifer Bourque of Ocala, Florida; brothers, Cody Bourque and wife Juliet, Chris Gaughan and wife Vy; sister, Denise Novasad and husband Randy; ½ siblings Christy and Ben Bourque; nieces, Sage and Kyleigh Bourque, Brianna Gaughan, and nephew, Zachary Davis; godparents, Kurt Soileau and Suzanne Brandon; girlfriend, Jaci Melancon. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Myrtle Waguespack, Cleveland and Rita Bourque; first cousin, Brody Paul Johns and great aunt, Ann MacFarland. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 1 PM - 2:30 PM. A Celebration of Gee’s life will follow at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Life House, a recovery center, website: thelifehouse.fm.
