A resident of Waskom, TX and a former, 30-year Zachary resident, he died on Thur., Nov. 17, 2011. He was 64 and an avid camper who enjoyed hunting and fishing, but, most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He had a master’s degree in physical education but worked most of his life as a chemical operator. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Richardson Parker; three daughters, Cassie Parker, Bridget Burgess and husband David Mangham, and Amanda Freeman; three sons, Travis Parker and wife Vikki, John Parker, and Jason Parker and wife Torie; three brothers, Wilbur Parker, John Melvin Parker, and Wesley Parker; seven grandchildren, Blanton Burgess, Blaine Parker, Brennen Parker, Sadie Freeman, Ryleigh Freeman, Bennett Freeman, and Emme Freeman; and three step-grandchildren, Ashlyn Mangham, Payton Mangham, and Andrew Carr. Preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Myrtis Newsom Parker; a son, Michael Everette Parker; and numerous aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Fri., Nov. 25, 2011 from 5 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will resume at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales on Sat., Nov. 26 from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am, with Father Rubin Reynolds celebrant.
