Elia Courville Doucet

GONZALES – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Elia, age 84, at 10:30 am Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Jon Koehler officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales. Visitation will resume at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 9:00 am on Tuesday, June 10, 2014.

A native Vinton, Louisiana and resident of Gonzales, Mrs. Doucet passed away at 7:29 pm on Friday June 6, 2014 at Gonzales Healthcare Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Carlene Doucet Guidry; sons, Roland Doucet and Shirley, Michael Doucet and Deborah; sister, Elvina Courville; Grandchildren, Bryan Doucet, Michelle Doucet Causey, Renee Doucet Carpenter, Michael Doucet Jr., Brock Doucet, Ardus Veillon, Gene Roy Veillon, Amanda Veillon and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Haywood A. Doucet Sr.; parents, Leazy and Eucharist Courville; sons, Haywood Doucet Jr., and Jeffery Doucet; daughters, Nelda Doucet and Cathleen Doucet; grandson, Roland “Scooter” Doucet Jr.; brothers, Colon Corville and Wilson Courville and sisters, Rena Courville Delatte and Aldelene Courville Broussard

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
