Dorothy “Happy” Mayers a native of DeRidder, LA and resident of Gonzales, LA died on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the age of 84. Dorothy or better known as “Happy” was a fun loving, free spirited, deeply spiritual, and loyal friend who loved to prepare a good meal for those she cared about. She loved to socialize, shop, play pool, play cards, fish, and thrift store treasure hunting. However the greatest loves of her life, her grandchildren and her beautiful flowers. She made a lasting impression in the homes of many people with her personal touch as home decorator. She is preceded in death by her parents, Basile Gregory Mayers and Berta Lee Lambright Mayers; and her siblings, Gregory LaVern Mayers, Lora Janet Mayers, and Michael Thomas Mayers. She is survived by her children, December (Danny) Ann Ledet, Russell (Nancy) Lee Mayers, and Spencer (Brittany Gregory Arnold; grandchildren, Allison (Ryan) Mayers Tubb, Jennifer (Austin) Estes Gifford, Beaux Bice, Alora Arnold, Willow Arnold, Lily Meska, Shiloh Meska, Kegan Madison, Aleaha Arnold, Blaze Arnold, Dylan Ledet, and Dane Ledet; great grandchildren, Adelaide Louise Gifford and Amery Bice; Numerous Nieces and Nephews, EACH and ALL special to her heart; and daughter in law, Regina (Jeff) Bice Craven, who were so special to her. The family would like to give a special thanks to all who loved and supported her through her life journey. Most importantly, the last few years. Her friends, lending their time, assisting with doctor visits, afternoon visits, and the many games of pool. She truly enjoyed every minute of it. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers honored to serve will be, Beaux Bice, Eric Millet, Austin Gifford, Cody Mayers, Gregory Mayers, Ryan Tubb, Russell Mayers, Spencer Arnold, Danny Ledet, Jimmy Babin, Brett Fife, and Christopher Crawford. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy., Gonzales, LA., on Saturday, September 9, 2023 beginning at 9AM until the service at 11AM.
