Heaven gained a sweet and precious angel, Donna Sue “Mama-Sue” Arceneaux of Gonzales, LA on May 29, 2022. She passed away peacefully at the age of 80. She was a native of Robstown, TX and a resident of Gonzales, LA. She lived life to the fullest and left this life with no regrets. Her passions involved our camp on Graveyard Island on Belle River, her beloved Drew Brees and the Saints, animals, gardening and working out to name a few. She was one that never sat idle and had the privilege of traveling all over the US and overseas. The lives that she touched while on this earth are countless. She leaves behind endless memories that will live on into infinity.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Carey P. Arceneaux; daughters, Renee Arceneaux (Rod Sedotal), Beth Arceneaux Singer (Ed), and Donna “SaSa” Arceneaux James (Jessie). Also survived by her siblings, Glenda Ammons, Brenda Shipley; brothers, Tommy Hutto and Randy Ogden. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles C. Blanchard and Anne Melvin; stepmother, Lois “Happy” Blanchard; and brother, David Ogden.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on June 3, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 15208 Highway 73, Prairieville, LA 70769. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 P.M. Interment will take place after mass at Hope Haven, 37577 Duplessis Rd, Prairieville, LA 70769. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Edward Singer, Wade Ammons, Richard Hutto, Jessie James, Sr., Forrest Ammons, Rod Sedotal. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Ogden and Tommy Hutto. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Patrick Stagg and his assistant Mary Hamilton. Also, to her hospice nurses, Cherie Zebbs, Carla Brumfield, and Terri Washington, along with the entire staff at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center of Gonzales.
