He is survived by his daughter, Tari Allen and husband Bobby; sister, Nola Mayeaux and husband Andrew; brother, Newton Leader and wife Jeri; brother-in-law, Dalton Carpenter; grandchildren, Myranda Allen, Lakin LeBoeuf and husband Gilbert, Christopher Leader and wife Megan, Alyssa Leader and great-grandchildren, Aubrey Mire, Gavin LeBoeuf, Luke LeBoeuf and Major LeBoeuf.
He is preceded in death by his son, W. Greg Leader; first wife, Mary Leader; second wife, Sandra Leader; parents, Wallace Leader and Orine Fontenot Leader; sister, Estelle Carpenter and brother, Maple Leader.
Mr. Leader was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and retired from BASF. In his spare time, he selflessly volunteered at many organizations including The Jambalaya Association, RCIA of St. John’s, COEA, Dreams Come True Foundation and the Mary Bird Perkins Foundation where he won the Volunteer of the Year Award. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. The family would like to express their appreciation to Lisa and the staff of Azalea Estates and the doctors and nurses at Baton Rouge General Hospital-Mid City.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church from 9:00 am until a memorial mass at 11:00 am.
