Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Carolyn Moore Stafford on Saturday, February 24, 2018, 11:00 am at Ourso Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday morning starting at 9:00 am and continuing until services begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Carpenter’s Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Stafford passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. She was 79 years old. In her youth, Mrs. Stafford was a star guard basketball player and softball player for Istrouma High School. She carried her passion of all sports with her throughout her life but she especially loved LSU football. Mrs. Stafford was a caring and wonderful mother to her 4 children. Through good times and hard times, she was a constant support and source of love and joy to her family. In her free time, she also enjoyed playing cards and Nascar racing. Mrs. Stafford is survived by her daughter, Olive Stafford Belle and husband Ludwig “Lu”; sons, Mike Stafford and wife Terri, Jimmy Stafford and wife Norma, Troy Stafford and wife Della; grandchildren, Joseph Warren Guerin, III, Michael James Stafford, Jace Babin, Brandon Michael Stafford, Madison Grace Stafford, Marin Elizabeth Stafford; sisters, Virginia LeJeune, Clyta Jenkins; brother, Everett “Buddy” Moore, Jr.; brother-in-law, Frank Corrent (Ruby); sister-n-law, Jonnie Stafford (Virgil) and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Levern G. Stafford; parents, Everett E. Moore, Sr. and Mildred Bates Day; step-father, James Clyde Day; sister, Patsy Ruth Moore; sister, Victoria “Vickie” Day Gewin and grandson, Jeremy Brandon Stafford Latino. Pallbearers will be Mike Stafford, Jimmy Stafford, Troy Stafford, Joey Guerin, Brandon Stafford, Michael Stafford, Kurt LeJeune and Jeff Melancon. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Debra Parks, LPN, Todd Janey, PT, Modern Home Health and the physicians and staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital for all the love, compassion and excellent care.
