Carol Anne Melnik Loeber, age 71, was born on November 25, 1950 and passed away surrounded by her family on March 31, 2022. She was a native of Kingston, New York and was a resident of Prairieville, Louisiana for the last 48 years.
She graduated from nursing school in Yonkers,New York in 1974. She worked in the healthcare field for many years serving as a nurse at Woman’s Hospital, worked in a family medical clinic as well as nursing home facilities before serving in an administrative capacity until retiring in 2015. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Prairieville.
She enjoyed giving of her time through volunteering including the St. John Catholic Church Food Pantry, the Miss Louisiana Scholarship Program and for Oak Alley Foundation for many years at their craft shows. She enjoyed shopping, gardening and reading but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with family, especially her 5 grandchildren. She enjoyed chauffeuring them to and from school, sports, dance, gymnastics and cheer practices and wherever else their little hearts desired.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert D. Loeber, son Jason Loeber and wife Hillary, daughter Amy Loeber Mitchell and grandchildren, Marti, Mallory & Luke Mitchell and Anna Grace & Jack Loeber and a brother, Peter Melnik, of New York. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter & Florence Melnik; maternal grandparents, Andrew and Anna Wren and paternal grandparents, Michael and Caroline Melnik.
A private family graveside service will be held at Hope Haven Cemetery in Prairieville on Friday, April 8, 2022.
