Bobby J. Rushing

Bobby Joe Rushing passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022, surrounded by his family, at the age of 84. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Galvez, LA. He enjoyed his time at the fishing camp, going on cruises and taking road trips with his late wife of 62 years, Carol Rushing. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Mullins; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Monty Gore; sons and daughters-in-law, Dean Rushing and Tawanah, Mark Rushing and Dana; sister, Nelda Rae Clousing; brothers, Dempsey (Pat) Edmonston and Joey (Shelia) Rushing; grandchildren, Brooke (Clint) Gautreau, Jonathan (Marsha) Rushing, Kacie Rushing, Nelson "Trey" Roth III (Maddie), Danielle Gore, Shawn Rushing, Shay Rushing; and great grandchildren, Parker and Conner Gautreau, Karson Armand, Spencer and Everett Rushing, Alyssa Enicke, Hunter, Haidyn and Bentley Gore, Ruby Roth . He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Rushing; parents, Joseph and Noelie Rushing; step-mother Ida Rushing; sisters, Edna (John) Whitley and Carol (Gene) Stevens; brother-in-law, Richard Clousing; grandson, Dustin Gore.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, Monday, August 1, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. with Father Jason Palermo. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in French Settlement. Pallbearers will be Trey Roth, Jonathan Rushing, Shawn Rushing, Clint, Parker and Conner Gautreau.
