Stanley Gorinac

Stan is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diana Gorinac, five children: Leeann Hughes, Eileen Gates (Russ), Robert Ackerman, Maureen Cavallaro (Rich), and Barbara Garthwaite, as well as ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Stan was born in Port Huron, Michigan on October 15, 1939. He moved to Phoenix where he met his wife, Diana at Parents Without Partners in 1979. Stan and Diana married on November 3, 1984. He served in the Navy for 4 years and retired as a supervisor for the City of Phoenix Water Services. Stan loved to travel in his motor home with his wife all over the United States. He loved to play cards at the American Legion, go to the casino with his wife, and drink ice-cold beer.

He had many friends and loved to entertain by having pool parties and barbequing. Anybody who knew him knew his favorite saying was “Hey, guy” and “Oh geez, guy.” Stan was a very loving, kind, and compassionate man who will be dearly missed.

A visitation for Stanley will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 12:00 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home (6450 W. Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301), followed by a funeral service with interment at 1:00 PM. A small gathering will be held after the service at American Legion Post 62 (9847 W. Desert Cove Ave Peoria, AZ 85345).
