Robert Roy McCray

Robert Roy McCray, 90, of Wickenburg, Arizona passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Surprise, AZ. Born in Denver, Colorado, he was the son of the late Oscar O. and Eileen W. (Farrell) McCray. When he was two years old, the family moved to Arizona. Robert graduated from North Phoenix High School, where he loved playing trumpet in the band. He then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Robert married Bertha (Sue) Dickson in 1947. They were married 59 happy years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue in 2006 and his sister, Eileen in 2015. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Johnson and her husband Bob; son, Robert R. Jr.; grandson Brian (Lydia); granddaughter, Megan; great grandsons, Dante and Jordan; nephews Robert and Michael. Robert was a senior life member of Arizona Masonic Lodge Number 2.F. & A.M. and a 70 year member of the American Legion Post 1. Rest in peace, Dad, we love you. Visitation will be held April 1st at 5:00 pm at Chapel of the Chimes 7924 N. 59th Ave. Glendale. Graveside services will be April 2nd at 1200pm located at Resthaven Park Cemetery 6450 W. Northern Ave.
