Ricardo “Rick” Castillo, 41, (who would have turned 42 on July 1st) entered into the house of the Lord on June 30, 2019. Rick, a twelve year veteran with APS was tragically killed in a fire while working in an underground electrical vault near 1st Avenue and Washington in downtown Phoenix.
Rick was born on July 1, 1977 in Reading, Pennsylvania, to Gloria Elvira Cuesta and Luis Enrique Castillo. He was a US veteran having served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Fitzgerald. Rick was a beloved husband, cherished father, son, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was genuine and kind, always putting God first and loving his family with all of his heart. He was a leader at Grace Walk Community Church. He was the heart and soul of the Youth Group devoting every Friday night working with kids 12-18 years of age that are struggling with their hurts, habits and hang ups. Rick was available for anyone and everyone in their time of need and he always gave with a huge heart and a big smile.
Rick leaves behind his wife, best friend and love of his life Veronica, adored daughters Kaelin and Ashlie, beloved son Jordan and precious grandsons Ahmi and Azrah. Besides his wife, children and parents, Rick is also survived by brothers: Harvey Castillo (Darling), Eduardo Castillo (Aida), Jason Castillo (Caroline), sister Jessenia Castillo (Steven), 10 nieces and nephews, extended family, APS family, many close fellowship friends and countless others.
Rick will be remembered for his love and commitment to God and his Family. His memory and legacy will shine bright as he touched and impacted many, many lives. Rick, you are Home with our Heavenly Father. May you rest in eternal peace. Our beautiful son of God, we will love and keep you forever in our hearts.
Services will be held at Dream City Church - Glendale on Saturday July 13, 2019 starting at 11am.
