Raquel Huerta Muñoz was born on January 18, 1975 in Phoenix, Arizona to Efraim and Aurora Huerta. She went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 30, 2021, with her husband and children by her side in Phoenix, Arizona.
Raquel is survived by her husband, Mike Muñoz and her children: Johnny Gonzales III (Kimberly), Jacob Gonzales, Brittany Muñoz, Giovanna Muñoz, Maximus Muñoz and Grandchild Gianna Bella Gonzales, along with her siblings: Anna Martinez, Veronica Huerta, Rueben Huerta, Efraim Huerta Jr., Rebecca and (Ignacio Daniel) as well as 11 nephews and nieces.
Raquel lived life to the fullest. When she was 17, she accepted the Lord into her life, married and became a proud mom. She was very responsible and determined to succeed in life despite the curve balls thrown her way. Raquel was blessed to be a part of three families beyond the Huertas (Gonzales, Cervantes and Muñoz). She loved her blended family and always said “everything in our life happens for a reason and we must trust in God ALWAYS.” She lost her two previous husbands to health issues (Johnny Gonzales II in 1996 and Rob Cervantes in 2009). Raquel learned quickly how to survive life’s challenges by trusting in God and having a good attitude. Through dedication and motivation she managed her way through college working full time while raising her boys. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from Ottawa University in Arts and Business Administration. She worked for 23 years with Sonora Quest Laboratories as a Human Resources Administrator, diligently working long hours and being responsible for many employees and blood labs throughout the Valley of the Sun.
Raquel enjoyed getting out with her family and friends to have a good time whether it was to a concert, Cardinal’s football game, family dinners, or other social events. She really enjoyed taking her dad to the casinos any chance she had. Raquel married Mike on July 11, 2015 on Pacific Beach in San Diego, California. Pacific Beach soon became their “go to” vacation for their anniversary. She loved to travel to Las Vegas and San Diego. Thank you, Mike, for taking her on so many enjoyable trips and blessing her with more family. Raquel loved her family, having a good time and watching beautiful sunsets on Pacific Beach.
God Bless her! We will always remember her smile and laugh. Raquel will be missed by so many. There is great comfort knowing she is in Heaven with her Mom & Dad!
